Quay Walls, Piles & Foundations
Geotechnical design of quay walls, sheet-pile structures and marine foundations, including anchored walls, pile groups and shallow foundations for ports, jetties and piers.
Marine Value provides geotechnical design and verification of quay walls, sheet-pile structures and marine foundations for ports, jetties, piers and loading facilities.
Based on available and project-specific geotechnical investigations, we establish design ground profiles and soil parameters for earth-pressure, stability, bearing-capacity and settlement analyses.
We design free and anchored steel sheet-pile walls, including tie-rod anchorage, anchor walls and cellular structures, as well as piled foundations for dolphins and other marine structures. Pile-group analyses cover axial, lateral and combined loading, including raking tension and compression piles.
Analyses are performed using AMRetain, GEO5 and PileGroup, including nonlinear p-y analysis and analytical verification methods such as Brinch Hansen. Shallow foundations are assessed for bearing capacity, eccentric loading and settlement.
Designs are developed in accordance with Eurocode 7 (EN 1997-1) and relevant BS 6349 standards.
